Formula

Fuel Needed (Litres) = Distance (km) ÷ Mileage (km/L)
Fuel Cost (₹) = Fuel Needed (Litres) × Fuel Price (₹/L)

Worked Example

Suppose you're driving 200 km, your car gives 15 km/L, and petrol is priced at ₹104/L:

Fuel Needed = 200 ÷ 15 = 13.33 litres
Fuel Cost = 13.33 × 104 = ₹1,386.67

So a 200 km trip in a car averaging 15 km/L at ₹104/litre would cost approximately ₹1,386.67 in fuel alone — useful when comparing against train or bus fares, or when splitting costs with co-passengers.
